Systems Modelling

Since in science numerical simulation has become analternative to theoretical and analytical observations, systems modelling and analyses of physical processes, energetically engineered components and complex energy systems are in the central focus of ZAE Bayern activities.

ZAE Bayern is able to apply all in its full range available know-how from the core topics photovoltaics, energy storage and energy optimized buildings, into systems modelling. Thus potentials for innovative approaches can be predicted and the technical and economical feasibility can be analyzed. In specific projects simulations are based on a number of commercial software products (like e.g. CFD, TRNSYS, MATLAB/Simulink) and are completed by algorithms developed by ZAE Bayern or by adjusted simulation tools. With these tools a deepened understanding of the system and an optimal interaction between material, componentand system development is reached. Additionally a numerical simulation is applied to optimize operations and individual processes.

About ZAE Bayern

ZAE Bayern works on the interface between evidence-based fundamental and applied- industrial research. Every year the institute performs a great number of projects with the industry, from SME to large groups, as well as with university and non-university research partners.
