Lower Franconian Cluster Project: Climate-Environment-Energy
Seven Lower Franconian cluster projects were provided with funding from the Bavarian State Government within the framework of the regional concept “High-Tech Offensive”. The clusters were projects to increase cooperation between industry, trade, research and users. They also served to network thematically-related projects within the regional concept of the High-Tech Offensive.
“Climate-Environment-Energy” was one of these clusters. Climate-Environment-Energy was coordinated by the Bavarian Center for Applied Energy Research in Würzburg.
The cluster coordinated the following main projects:
LIPRI – Light-Redirecting Facade Element with a Prismatically-Structured Film
LTWD – Transparent Insulation with Integrated Shading
SOPRI – Transparent Solar Control on the Basis of Prismatically Structured Sandwich Elements
VIP Building – Development and Application of Evacuated, Highly-Efficient Insulation for Buildings (article currently only available in German).
Thematically-related, yet independent projects were consolidated under each cluster. The cluster coordinators cooperated to utilize synergy effects. The seven Lower Franconian clusters created a collective image uniting a broad spectrum of high technology. The cluster coordinators organized several events together under the name “Innovationsnetz Unterfranken” (Lower Franconian Innovation Network).
